This genuine OEM Kohler Split Activator Kit (SKU: 258219) is designed to replace the standard one-piece FR activator in Kohler generator systems. The kit separates the function of the FR activator into two components: the rotating photo transistor board and the SCR assembly. The SCR assembly controls current flow to the generator field, while the command and sensing circuitry to control the SCR is now located on the shaft-mounted photo transistor board. This design enhances reliability and serviceability.
